Ordering & Pricing
Placing, changing and gifting an order — no clock, no rush.
- Puzzles, mostly — but more than one kind. There are custom photo puzzles made from a photo of your own, a rotating puzzle board built to leave a puzzle out and come back to, ready-made jigsaws, and the odd accessory to go with them — with more on the way. This FAQ covers all of it; anything specific to custom photo puzzles is grouped under its own heading.
- Add what you're after to your cart and check out. For a ready-made puzzle, the board or an accessory, that's it. For a custom photo puzzle, you'll drop your photo in and set the crop first — under a minute either way. You'll get a confirmation email when your order lands, and a second one with tracking when it ships.
- Often, yes — if you're quick. It depends on the item and how far along it is: made-to-order things like custom photo puzzles have only a short window before they go to print. Send us your order number through our contact page as soon as you can and we'll do what we can — the refunds page has the specifics.
- Yes — guest checkout's fine. All we need is an email address to send your confirmation and tracking. An account's optional; it just keeps your past orders and re-orders in one place, and you can set one up after checkout if you change your mind.
- Yes, with one small catch: each size needs its own checkout for now. The crop and resolution check are tied to a single size, so the configurator carries one at a time. Place your first order, then come back and re-upload the same photo at the next size. Want a bundle across sizes? Reach us through our contact page before you order and we'll sort something out.
- Of course — pay as yourself, ship to them. At checkout, set the delivery address to the recipient and keep your own as the billing address. We don't slip the invoice in the box, so it's safe to send straight to their door. Want a handwritten note tucked in? Pop it in the “delivery instructions” box and we'll do our best.
- Not yet. Every puzzle arrives in its own printed box, which most people like to keep on show as part of the gift. If you'd like something wrapped by hand for a special occasion, reach us through our contact page before you order and we'll see what we can do.
Custom photo puzzles
Just for our custom photo puzzles — turning a photo of your own into one. Your photo stays yours.
- A recent phone photo taken in good light is usually all it takes. Sharp focus, even light, and your subject filling most of the frame will give you the nicest result. Cropped Instagram exports and screenshots are often too small for the bigger sizes — but don't worry, the configurator flags that up front. For resolution guidance, see the size guide.
- Yes — straight off your iPhone, nothing to convert. HEIC, JPG, PNG and WebP all work, up to 50 MB, and we handle the HEIC conversion for you behind the scenes.
- Very close, though not quite pixel-for-pixel. The on-screen preview is color-managed for sRGB and the press matches it within a small delta — side by side, most people can't tell. Two honest exceptions: very dark shadow detail can lose a half-step on matte paper, and screen blues sometimes print a touch flatter than they look on an OLED phone. We tune for natural skin tones and faces first, scenery second.
- Yes — that's exactly what the configurator's for. Once we've processed your photo, you get a full-size preview with the precise crop that'll be printed. Drag and zoom to set the crop, and switch between piece counts to see how each size frames your image. Nothing's locked in until you check out, so take your time.
- Usually 10 to 30 seconds. We sharpen, denoise and find your subject, so by the time the preview appears the photo's print-ready and the crop sits roughly on whatever matters most. From there, you can fine-tune the crop yourself before ordering.
- We use it to make your puzzle, and nothing else. The original is deleted from active storage 90 days after fulfillment, and we keep a low-resolution archive copy for 12 months in case you ever want a reprint. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time — see the privacy policy for details.
- Only if you own the rights, or have the rights-holder's permission. By uploading, you're confirming you're allowed to have the image printed — see our terms. We may turn down, without refund, any order that clearly breaches someone else's copyright — album covers, film posters, well-known press shots — so your own photos are always the safest bet.
Printing & Production
Sizes, materials and how each puzzle is made.
- 252, 500, 1000 and 1500 pieces. You'll find finished dimensions, photo resolution requirements and a “best for” guide in the size guide.
- Size and challenge. A 252-piece puzzle finishes around A3 and is an evening for a confident solo adult; a 1500-piece finishes closer to a small poster and settles in as a weekend project. The more pieces, the higher the photo resolution we need to keep each one crisp — and the configurator flags that before you order. You'll find the full breakdown of finished sizes, recommended ages and resolution thresholds in the size guide.
- For custom photo puzzles, yes — every paid order is printed, no exceptions. Production starts soon after checkout, and your puzzle ships from our print partner once it's made. A preview on its own, with no paid checkout, isn't printed. (Ready-made puzzles are already made, so that doesn't apply.)
- As a rough guide by piece count: 252 pieces suits ages 7 and up, 500 pieces ages 9 and up, and 1000 and above is for confident adult puzzlers or kids working alongside a parent. None of them are safe for under-3s — there are small pieces, so please keep them well away from very young children.
- A 2 mm recycled gray-board backing with a matte-laminate top sheet, die-cut into interlocking pieces in mixed shapes — no two the same. Each one's boxed in printed card with a reference print, a small instruction card and a polybag for the pieces. Bar that inner polybag, the packaging is plastic-free.
Shipping & Delivery
Lead times, tracking and what it costs.
- Each order is made and then sent tracked. Custom photo puzzles are printed to order, so they take a little longer to leave us than ready-made puzzles, boards and accessories. You'll see an estimated arrival for your address at checkout — and our shipping page walks through how delivery works.
- Not right now. We'd rather give you an honest timeline than promise a rush we can't guarantee on something printed just for you. We make it, then dispatch it with tracked delivery — and because the final leg is down to the carrier, we can't pin it to a hard date like a birthday or anniversary. If timing's tight, reach us through our contact page before you order and we'll be straight with you about what's realistic.
- We email you a tracking link the moment your order ships, and every order goes out with a tracked carrier. If it's been a good while past the estimate you saw at checkout and nothing's landed, check your spam first, then reach us through our contact page with your order number and we'll chase it up.
- It depends on your order and where it's going. You'll see the exact delivery cost for your address at checkout before you pay — and our shipping page covers how delivery works.
Returns & Refunds
If something goes wrong, we will make it right.
- Send us a photo through our contact page within 14 days of delivery and we'll put it right at no cost — your call between a straight reprint or a full refund. No need to send the original back; just recycle it or pass it on. You'll find the full policy on the refunds page.
- If the print itself is faulty — banding, a mis-cut, the wrong photo — we reprint it free within 14 days, no quibble. If you went past the configurator's sharpness warning and the result is softer than you'd hoped, we can't refund that, since the warning is the checkpoint we both rely on — but we'll happily do a reprint at a smaller size for 50% off. Because each puzzle is made to your photo, it isn't covered by the usual 14-day change-of-mind return. Your statutory rights for faulty goods stay exactly as they are.
- Head to our contact page and send us a message — we reply within a working day, Monday to Friday. A real person reads every one.
